In Cave 158, the Flying Apsaras is depicted in three forms, located on the south, middle and north sides above the row of bodhisattva statues between the sala trees of the west wall. The Flying Apsaras either plays a transverse flute, holds a flower tray, or holds a jeweled necklace. Their ribbons flutter gracefully along with auspicious clouds, creating a dynamic sense of movement. On the right side of each flying apsaras, there are wild geese holding flowers in their beaks.
